Aunt Posey, the daughter of Thaddeus M. And Sally Hairston, attended the meeting, responded to the preached Word by accepting Jesus Christ into her life through water
baptism in Jesus Name and Spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in “other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance”. Her testimony influenced her father, mother, and five
siblings who followed her into holiness.
Thirty-one years later, at the age of 12 years, Roland Eugene also responded to the preached Word by accepting Jesus Christ into her life through water baptism in Jesus
Name and Spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost. As a third generation apostolic, the son of William and Rebecca Hairston, Bishop Hairston continues with unwavering consistency
to pass on the apostolic inheritance to his children and grandchildren. He is married to the lovely Dr. June Hairston, Ed.D., daughter of the late Deacon and Sister Willis
Summers of St. Louis Missouri. They have been married 47 years (June 30th), and have six children: LaTilla Janel, Roland Eugene Jr., Russell Scott, Heather
Sommer-Joi, Ashleigh Crystal, and Lajiah; one son-in-law, Brad Burris; two daughters-in-law, Babette and Patricia; and ten grandchildren: Jason, Kierra, Brenna,
Roland III, Janae, Russell Jr., Avi, and Jaylen, Cielle, and Autumn Joi.
Bishop Hairston completed his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major from Seattle Pacific University, Biblical Literature (Theology) and Psychology, in 1971; his Master of
Education degree in Educational Psychology in 1973 from the University of Washington, and his Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Family Psychology from Seattle Pacific
University in 2000.
Elevated in the Pacific Northwest District Council to District Elder by Bishop Henry L. Johnson in March 1993; and elevated to Suffragan Bishop by Bishop Curtis E.
Montgomery in May 1995. In 1998 he was elected to serve as Lay Director for the Western Region and member of the Board of Directors of the P.A. of W., Inc. In
July 2002, the Board of Bishops elevated then Suffragan Bishop Hairston to Diocesan Bishop and assigned to the 52nd Episcopal Diocese, the Far East District Council,
including Japan, South Korea, Okinawa, and Guam. His most recent assignment came with the resignation of the Honorable Bishop Curtis E. Montgomery from the
Pacific Northwest District Council in August 2014. Bishop Hairston then transferred to the Pacific Northwest District Council as Diocesan Bishop. Dr. Hairston is thankful
for the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the P.N.D.C. and Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc., and looks forward to the great achievements
God will perform through those who make themselves available.
As he continues to transition into the 21st century he realizes the difference between success and blessings. He knows beyond any shadow of doubt that he is reaping from
the spiritual blessings and legacy that began 90 years ago in his family. He doesn't mince words when it comes to sustaining and protecting his core values around God, family
and ministry. His life’s goal is to transfer these values to generations to follow, maintaining high moral standards, and providing tangible examples of his contribution,
dedicating his life and resources to the ministry of service within family, church, local and global communities, the P.N.D.C., and the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
